VOTER & CIVIC AWARENESS
Community Huddle's nonpartisan voter outreach is not subsidized, affiliated or endorsed by any political candidate or political party, and does not directly or indirectly participate in any campaign lobbying or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office. Community Huddle hosts nonpartisan voter registration drives to 18+ year olds, nonpartisan get out the vote (GOTV) drives, nonpartisan voter and civic awareness outreach to marginalized and underserved communities to expand the electorate and increase voter turnout.
B. MARSHALL SCHOLAR
Community Huddle's 'B. Marshall Scholar' honoring our founder, Min. Byron Marshall, and in the spirit of excellence in education and lifelong learning promotes reading literacy with pop-up reading visits to k-12 schools; financial literacy workshops; providing employment opportunities to eligible youth living in the Metro Milwaukee area between the ages of 14-24 through Community Huddle's participation in the Earn & Learn Summer Youth Employment Program; national mentoring outreach program; SEL outreach; award scholarships; host parent engagement meetings; back to school backpack & supplies giveaways; STEM/STEAM events; and more. The mission of 'B. Marshall Scholar' is for students and alumni to be academically endowed, active and productive members of their respective communities.
SOLID GROUND INITIATIVE
Community Huddle's 'Solid Ground Initiative' works to uplift and stabilize the quality of life in the community to remove barriers for regaining sound footing by facilitating opportunities in the form of job resume training workshops; felony pardon resource information; periodical warrant withdrawal day; and more.
TH!NK BEFORE YOU ACT
Community Huddle's 'TH!NK BEFORE YOU ACT. CAMPAIGN' raises awareness against gun violence, bullying & reckless driving in our community. Our aim is to promote civic virtue and increase community awareness to value lives and employ thought into every action and decision behind the wheel, and life in general.
RENEWING MINDS
Community Huddle's 'Renewing Minds Prison & Juvenile Outreach Ministry' aims to reduce recidivism and incarceration through bible study and civic engagement, and to promote humanity and safety in our jails, and increase mental health awareness and treatment in corrections.
ANNUAL TURKEY GIVEAWAY
Honoring the memory and preserving the legacy of Bernetta J. Walker (March 31, 1938 -- September 21, 2013), the maternal Grandmother who helped to raise our founder, Byron Marshall, and who served for years in the church breakfast program ministry, feeding the hungry in the greater Milwaukee area. Her legacy will carry on as a pillar of hope through our 'Annual Bernetta J. Walker Turkey Giveaway' to support families in our community.
